As Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology, Fellow of the International Academy of Proctology, Professor of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology/Hepatology at the California Northstate University College of Medicine, Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine, and clinical faculty of Stanford University School of Medicine and UCSF School of Medicine in San Francisco, Professor Zhang Quanliang has engaged in clinical practice, research and teaching in various fields of Gastroenterology and Hepatology for over forty years in the U.S. At the same time, he is Chairman of the American Liver Foundation Asian Leadership Advisory Board, Chair, board member of the California division of the American Cancer Society, Chairman of the board of the American Liver Foundation, Northern California and Nevada Chapter and a member of the International Advisory Committee on Liver Diseases.

Specializing in clinical and scientific research, training and development of hepatitis, liver cancer, cirrhosis and various kinds of hepatobiliary diseases, as well as being experienced in clinical and scientific training, he has chaired and lectured at numerous international and national academic seminars, given countless lectures on various topics of viral hepatitis, liver cancer and other liver diseases, gastrointestinal cancers and various other digestive diseases. Working as a chapter writer for several specialized books on liver diseases, more than 30 of his scientific papers have been published in several major medical journals. He has earned numerous awards and top honors from the American Liver Foundation, the Veterans Healthcare System, the National Community Health Service, and the American Salvation Army, just to name a few.
