The Seventh Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University Becomes One of Shenzhen’s First International Medical Service Pilot Hospitals
Recently, the Public Hygiene and Health Commission of Shenzhen Municipality and the Healthcare Security Administration of Shenzhen Municipality jointly issued the Three-Year Action Plan to Promote the Innovative Development of International The Seventh Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University (“SAH-SYSU”) has become one of the first pilot hospital for international medical services. This marks the recognition of SAH-SYSU in the field of international medical services and serves as a demonstration in further promoting the improvement and development of Shenzhen’s international medical service system. Medical Services and announced the List of the First Batch of International Medical Service Pilot Units and International Health Community (Hong Kong-style Family Doctor Studios), with 14 hospitals selected.

To establish a high-quality medical service system that matches the world-class Guangming Science City and meets the diverse and multi-level medical service needs of patients, the International Medical Center (“IMC”) of SAH-SYSU was officially established and became operational on March 8, 2023.

Over the past year, SAH-SYSU’s IMC has shown distinctive characteristics in international medical services, especially in cross-border medical services. It has signed insurance cooperation agreements with renowned international and domestic insurance companies, offering diversified direct payment insurance medical services to patients and providing great convenience for Hong Kong residents and other foreigners seeking medical treatment in Shenzhen. The hospital serves as the comprehensive service base for the whole-life-cycle health management of all citizens in Guangming District, fully leveraging its advantages to provide all-encompassing, integrated health management services to the residents of the Greater Bay Area. It actively promotes cooperation with Nanyang Commercial Bank in Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, and other financial, educational, and medical institutions, fostering more exchanges in enhancing medical services and research projects, and jointly promoting the development of cross-border medical services.
