Drawing on the talent pool of Sun Yat-sen University, as well as its discipline construction and scientific research, the Department of TCM integrates its clinical, teaching and research work, featuring its first established Chinese Fasting Therapy, TCM Cardiovascular Disease Rehabilitation Research Center, TCM Diabetic Nephropathy Control Research Center, and subspecialties of TCM Encephalopathy, TCM Pain, TCM Spleen and Stomach Specialty, TCM Gynecology and Pediatrics, Acupuncture and Massage. With the state-of-the-art equipment including multi-function traction bed, microwave therapeutic instrument, mid-frequency therapeutic instrument, laser therapeutic instrument, TCM iontophoresis machine, TCM fumigation and washing machine, needle knife equipment, multi-parameter monitors, etc. and technology like TCM hunger-free fasting therapy, TCM healthy-keeping, TCM body and mind therapy, hypnotism, preventive treatment of disease, constitution identification, small needle knife, manual reduction, massage, traction, external application, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping therapy, plum blossom needles, point injection, point embedding, scraping, fumigation, medicinal bath among other TCM clinical services. Our 35-bed department will soon be expanded to 200 more beds in Phase II. Currently we have 14 specialists in total, including 1 chief physician, 1 associate chief physician, 4 attending physicians, 8 residents and 1 therapist.
